What's included

Gas plumbing for homes & appliances.

In Massachusetts, gas plumbing is regulated and permitted. Every new line, appliance change-out, or capacity upgrade has to be done by a licensed plumber and inspected. Kiley handles the full gas plumbing scope: new appliance hookups (range, dryer, fireplace), tankless water heater gas-line sizing, generator and pool-heater connections, full-house re-piping, and meter relocations.

We size every gas line correctly for the connected load. An undersized run might work for one appliance but starve a tankless heater that comes online during a winter peak — a common cause of tankless lockouts in Metrowest. We use black iron and CSST where appropriate, with the manufacturer-required bonding on every CSST run.

For heating, we handle the plumbing side of boiler installs, indirect water heaters, hydronic loops, and high-efficiency condensing equipment. We coordinate with HVAC partners on combustion-side work where the project requires it, and we pull and document gas permits in your town.

FAQ

Gas & heating FAQ.

Do you need a permit to run a new gas line?
Yes. In Massachusetts, any new gas line or appliance connection requires a gas permit pulled by a licensed plumber and an inspection. We pull and document every gas permit ourselves.
I smell gas — what should I do?
Leave the building immediately. Don't operate any electrical switches. From outside, call your utility's emergency line first (Eversource, National Grid), then call us. Once the source is isolated, we can repair, recertify, and restart your appliances.
Can you connect a new gas range or dryer?
Yes. We add a properly sized gas line, install a code-compliant shut-off, connect the appliance with a flexible connector, and pressure-test the system. Permits are pulled and inspection scheduled.
Do you work on heating systems?
On the plumbing side — yes. We install and service the piping for boilers, indirect water heaters, and hydronic systems, and we handle the gas-supply portion. For combustion service we partner with HVAC specialists.
Can you upgrade gas service capacity?
We coordinate the meter and supply upgrade with your utility, then re-pipe the building distribution at proper sizing for your appliance demand. Common when adding a tankless water heater or generator.
