If you call (508) 429-2888 and nobody picks up, you may get a text back asking what's going on. That is the only reason we ever text you. This page explains exactly what we send, how to stop it, and what we do with what you tell us.
A text from us goes to one kind of number and one only: a number that called (508) 429-2888 and did not reach anyone. Calling the shop is what gives us permission to text you back. That is the consent — there is no form to fill out and no box to check.
We do not buy phone numbers. We do not rent, borrow, or upload lists. We do not text people who never called us. And we never send marketing or promotional texts — no specials, no coupons, no reminders to book, not ever. Every message is about the call you just made.
You are under no obligation to answer. If you would rather leave a voicemail, voicemail is always available and we check it. If you would rather just call back later, that works too. Ignoring the text costs you nothing.
Here is the whole conversation, start to finish.
We text back asking which town you're in and what the problem is. If a photo would help us understand it, we'll offer that as an option — sending one is up to you.
If only half the answer comes back — the town but not the problem, or the problem but not the town — we ask once for the missing piece. Just once. We don't keep asking.
We confirm we've got it and that someone will be in touch. That's the end of the conversation.
That is typically three messages per missed call, or four in the case where we had to ask that one follow-up question. Message frequency varies depending on whether you reply and what you say — if you don't reply at all, you get fewer.
We never quote a price by text, never promise an arrival time by text, and never book an appointment by text. Those are conversations with a person. A person from Kiley Plumbing follows up with you — the texts only gather enough detail so that when we call you back, we already know what we're walking into.
Message and data rates may apply. Whether a text costs you anything depends on your own plan and your mobile carrier, not on us.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts travel across mobile networks we don't control, so we can't promise a message arrives, or that it arrives quickly. If something is urgent, call (508) 429-2888 — don't rely on a text.
Reply STOP to any message from us and the texts stop. You get one confirmation that we received it, and after that nothing — no follow-up, no "are you sure," no later attempt to start the conversation back up.
Reply HELP for help, or call us at (508) 429-2888 and a person will sort it out with you.
Stopping the texts does not affect calling us in any way. You can still call, we still answer, and nothing about your phone number changes. It also does not cancel any work you already have scheduled — an opt-out is about text messages, nothing else.
When you text with us, here is everything that gets kept:
We use all of it for one purpose: to understand the job and call you back prepared. It is not used to profile you, score you, target you, or build any kind of advertising audience.
No mobile information is sold or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
The only outside companies that touch this information are the ones that make the texting work: the messaging provider that actually delivers the messages to your phone, and the scheduling software we use to run the business and keep your job record. Both handle it on our behalf so that we can do the work you called about.
Your number and your messages are never sold, never rented, and never given to advertisers, data brokers, or lead-generation companies. There is no version of this where your phone number ends up on somebody else's list.
Texts and photos are kept as part of your job record for as long as they are useful for the work and for our business records — generally up to two years — and then they are deleted. An opt-out is kept longer than that, because we have to remember not to text you again.
If you would rather we delete your messages sooner, email bobbyk@kileyplumbing.com and ask. We will take care of it.
